Health Regulations for Yellow Fever Prevention

To safeguard public health, all travelers arriving in India by air or sea from a Yellow Fever-endemic country must carry a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, as per the guidelines established by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Entry Regulations for Travelers

Any foreign national or Indian citizen (excluding infants under six months) who arrives without a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate will be subject to quarantine for up to six days if they have traveled through or transited from an affected region. This measure is strictly enforced to prevent the spread of Yellow Fever in India.

Departure Regulations for Travelers

There are no mandatory health checks for travelers leaving India for Yellow Fever-endemic countries. However, for their own safety, passengers are strongly advised to get vaccinated and carry a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate before departure.

Visa Regulations for Travelers from Yellow Fever-Endemic Countries

Indian missions abroad issue visas to foreign nationals from Yellow Fever-endemic regions only after verifying a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate. The visa is endorsed with the notation: “Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate Checked.”
